Detox

rawpoet:

Hey, everyone!

I’m starting a liquid fast today; for the next few days (or more) I’ll be enjoying water, tea, fresh juices and the occasional smoothie.  I’ve been feeling the need to detox, and after a long-overdue (and wonderful) phone conversation with my friend Claire (who’s been in Hawaii since December; lifeintheraw.tumblr.com), during which she told me that she’s been liquid fasting, I decided to give it a shot!

This morning, I had a Master Cleanse drink, to get the detoxification started.  A common misconception is that the Master Cleanse is only used as a misguided and dangerous weight-loss attempt; while that is sometimes the case, it can be very cleansing for the system when used in moderation.

Master Cleanse

  • 1 tall glass of water
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • agave or honey to taste

Combine in glass and enjoy!

For lunch, I made a yummy juice that I came up with just today!

Green Orange Juice

  • 1 orange
  • 1 apple
  • 2 large stalks of kale
  • 3 cups water

Combine in high-speed blender and blend until smooth.  Strain through nut-milk bag and enjoy!

I’m feeling cleaner already.  Yay!

Hey :)
Wish you the best!!! I was going to start my detox last week but it was my birthday and people were taking me to raw restaurants :P and well I couldn’t say no. I’m going to try the Green Orange Juice you posted since my dad just picked oranges from my tree!

Take care. :)
